Black Hat Asia 2027 runs from 28 February to 3 March at Marina Bay Sands. Trainings come first, then the Briefings and the Business Hall on 2 and 3 March. It’s a focused show: the 2025 edition had more than 3,100 attendees, with registrants from 83 countries, and the 2026 Business Hall had more than 50 exhibitors. The catch in 2027 is timing. Chinese New Year falls on 6 February, so the three weeks you’d normally leave for swag land in the middle of the Chinese New Year slowdown. This is when to order, what works with a security crowd and how deliveries work at Marina Bay Sands.

- Black Hat Asia 2027 is on 28 February to 3 March at Marina Bay Sands, with the Business Hall open on 2 and 3 March.
- Chinese New Year is on Saturday 6 February, and suppliers slow down from about a week before to about two weeks after. Plan for your swag to be made by Friday 29 January.
- Brief custom items by Friday 4 December and standard swag by Friday 8 January. We can store it in Singapore until move-in.
- Security people won’t plug free USB sticks, cables or hubs into their laptops. Give them something that doesn’t need plugging in.

Why Chinese New Year matters for a March show
Plenty of swag, and a lot of the blank stock it’s printed on, is made in factories in China, which close for Chinese New Year. The slowdown runs well past the holiday itself. SEKO Logistics expects factory shutdowns to cluster around 30 January to 14 February 2027, with factories reopening between about 20 February and 6 March. Our own rule of thumb is that suppliers slow down from about a week before Chinese New Year to about two weeks after.
So for a show on 2 March, the three weeks you’d normally leave yourself are the three weeks when very little gets made. The fix is to order before the break. We make your swag before the factories close, store it in Singapore and bring it to your booth at move-in. Our Chinese New Year guide has more on how the holiday works.
What swag works at Black Hat Asia
Black Hat brings together security researchers, engineers, consultants and the people who buy security products. They’ve seen every giveaway going, and some of the usual tech swag is a bad fit:
- Skip anything that plugs in. No USB sticks, charging cables or USB hubs. At a security conference, a free device that connects to a laptop is more likely to get a laugh than a lead.
- Stickers, from SGD 1.82. Laptop stickers are a staple at security conferences, and cheap enough to give everyone. Secure Code Warrior’s US team took 200 stickers in two designs, plus 100 embroidered caps, to its FS-ISAC booth in Singapore.
- T-shirts, SGD 11 to 61, and caps. Conference tees get worn when the design is one people want to be seen in, not just a big logo.
- Custom socks, from SGD 7.90. A fun one for a technical crowd. They’re made overseas, so they’re one to brief by 4 December.
- RFID-blocking card holders, from SGD 7.31. On-theme for a security crowd, and useful for anyone who flew in. Try the Cascade card holder or the Wander passport and card holder.
- Notebooks, SGD 6 to 17, with a pen. A quarter of people rate notebooks and planners the most valuable event swag.
The Business Hall is smaller than the big Singapore EXPO shows, so base quantities on the conversations you expect rather than total attendance. Order a little above your expected booth traffic for volume items like stickers, and keep premium items for qualified leads. Our guide to trade show gifts and conference giveaways has more on budgets.
Getting swag to your booth at Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands is in the middle of the city, so deliveries need more planning than at Singapore EXPO. A few rules to know:
- Loading docks are for goods vehicles. They take goods or commercial vehicles up to 4.2 m high. Each vehicle needs an entry permit, applied for online within seven days of the entry date, and the first 45 minutes are free.
- Small parcels can go through the Mail & Package Centre. On Level 3, it accepts courier parcels from the earliest delivery date in your exhibitor manual, stores them for up to seven days and delivers them to your booth. Its January 2025 price list charged a handling fee of SGD 35 for parcels up to 20 kg and SGD 75 for 21 to 100 kg. Parcels must be sent freight prepaid, with duties and GST paid by the sender.
- Check for an official forwarder. Your exhibitor service kit names it, along with the move-in times and any rules on who can deliver. Only the official forwarder can run forklifts and other lifting equipment in the halls.
- Be there to sign, and label every carton with Black Hat Asia 2027, your company name, your booth number, and box X of Y.
Kpler’s UK team got 100 canvas tote bags and 100 handheld fans delivered straight to its stand at Marina Bay Sands in seven days, while its Singapore colleagues were away at another event. If we’re making your swag, we deliver it to your booth during move-in, or to your forwarder if the show requires one. And with our On-Time Guarantee, your order is free if we’re late.
Shipping swag in from overseas?
Allow 5 to 10 business days in transit, plus customs clearance, and more around Chinese New Year, when freight gets busier and less predictable. Singapore charges 9% GST on the goods plus shipping and insurance, business shipments over SGD 400 need a customs permit, and free giveaways aren’t exempt. Our guides to Singapore customs rules and getting event swag to Singapore from overseas cover the details.
